Research CornerTriangle Laboratories, a Durham, N.C. based analytical lab, announced the introduction of Rapidscreen, a new technology designed to screen for dioxins, furans and PCBs in soil. The new method is expected to reduce costs and time needed from current methods. A new study by AMB Property Corp. documents a tight linkage between U.S. manufacturing output and national demand for distribution centers and warehouse space. The direct correlation has held without interruption since 1989 and suggests a rebound for industrial real estate in the third quarter of 2002 following a difficult first half. AMB touts the study as being the most accurate model of its kind in the U.S. commercial real estate industry and the company says the study could aid in predicting or understanding demand patterns in broader commercial real estate markets—not just industrial property.
