Vision v. Hallucination: Incremental Brownfield Problem-Solving

I had lunch the other day in a very cool reinvention of an old theater on a strip of forgotten street in one of the most sought after cities in the world. As I did, I thought about Brownfields. An unusual reflection only for people outside our industry, the musing was brought on by the fact that I was lunching on a street I generally avoided out of concern for health and safety. The half-dozen blocks were real property underdeveloped due to the real or perceived presence of things that might negatively affect my day. And now here I was, sitting in something that seemed the economic equivalent of a blade of grass pushing up through concrete.
